The Music Man Albany Theatre reviews
What a great evening with Rod Stewart and Cheap Trick
I graduated from high school in Pontiac and Pine knob opened the year I grew up. Pine knob was a little different in the 2026’s but basically a very fun place to see a concert. We sat in the lawn which still gave us a good view of the stage and the Jumbotron helped to see close up. I hadn’t been back there in 45 years but saw many concerts there in the 70’s. The process for getting into the venue went smoothly and we loved the fact that although it was crowded we didn’t wait in line for concessions or the bathrooms. I know 4 that they performed and I enjoyed the others they performed. They played for an hour and after a 20 minute intermission, Rod Stewart performed for 2 hours and he was just awesome. I thought I only knew one Cheap Trick song but he was very active on the stage and we loved hearing his big hits as well as the great job he and his band did with the songs they covered. Hard to believe he’s 77 years old. Just a very enjoyable and fun night. I especially liked the way he featured the musicians who played violins, harp, saxophone, drums.
